Esra Schuiling

Esra Schuiling is a health psychologist and supervisor of schema therapy at VSt and VGCt. She has been working in her own practice since 2021 and is affiliated with Psyche & Zwangerschap. Prior to that, she worked in the schema therapy team at NPI (Arkin), which specializes in personality disorders. In her practice, she mainly works with individual, group, and family-oriented schema therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and EMDR. She specializes in perinatal issues. In her practice, she mainly sees mothers or pregnant women who suffer from depression and/or anxiety with mild personality issues and who have difficulty bonding with their child. She has developed a schema therapy group for mothers (GST moms) and is focusing her PhD research at Maastricht University on the effect of GST moms on the attachment relationship between mother and child. Since 2019, she has been working as a lecturer for the GZ training program and VGCt. She now focuses mainly on teaching schema therapy courses.
