Chris Korevaar
Chris Korevaar is a Clinical Psychologist/Psychotherapist. He works as a senior practitioner at the PsyMens mental health institution. Here, he treats clients (mainly adults and young adults) with Schema Therapy, both individually and in groups, within the Specialist Mental Health Care (GGZ) system. He has been teaching Schema Therapy since 2013.
He worked for Rivierduinen and Pro Persona for many years, where he was a member of the personality disorders expert group and head of psychodiagnostics. He was also treatment coordinator for the personality disorders team. He has extensive experience in the field of personality disorders (clusters B and C) in terms of diagnosis and treatment. This includes both group settings and as treatment coordinator for the Center for Psychotherapy’s schema therapy cluster, as well as individual programs in outpatient and (day) clinical settings. In this capacity, he has set up part-time treatments and clinical group treatments according to Farrell and Shaw, with whom he has completed various training courses.
Chris is active as a supervisor and trainer for the Association for Schema Therapy, where he is chairman of the Course Accreditation Committee.
In addition, he works as a senior lecturer for the Specialist Training Program for Clinical Psychologists BIG, for which he is also a year group trainer. He also teaches schema therapy within the elective curriculum for the Postmaster’s Program in Psychotherapy, Adults and Children & Youth.
Since 2013, Chris has had his own practice where he supervises psychologists in training for the KP and GZ in psychodiagnostics, as well as providing supervision and learning therapy within the framework of Schema Therapy.
